Wyoming plains

The day fades out
and the night’s about
to take over Wyoming plains
hear the coyotes howling
they’re crying out my pain

I’m sitting here
on this back-porch
all sounds have died
thinking of you
on previous nights

How could you do this
Just go and blow it
And leave me sitting here
Yeah these moments are hard
and I can’t stand the thought
of the warmth of your body near

The future we shared
the love and the care
fade away with the sounds in the night
they’re carried away
over mountains high

The nightly silence
is a perfect picture
of what I feel inside
shows no mercy
shows no light

There’ll be an end to this night
the beginning of light
sun melts down the clouds
I’ll pick up the peaces
try and make it without

Blues babe, blues is what you left
when you turned your back on me
it takes seas of bitter tears
to set myself free
